“The first time I saw Affy let loose it took me back to the great drummers I have seen like John Bonham, Papa Jo Jones, and Tony Williams.”
“Afrika is an outstanding young drummer who can turn her hand to any style of music with natural ease”
“Love Affy, great service on the top line drums, highly recommend her work”
“From the moment I saw Afrika’s audition tape I knew she was it. The real deal. Technically impecable, musically fluent and utterly dedicated to her craft. The band needed Afrika – they needed her skill and versatility – what they also got was her 24 carat human spirit. Talent, Generous and lovely with it? Nauseating – but true”
“Affy is probably the nicest drummer I know, she is highly skilled and competent! Look no further”
“Big praise, but she has such rare contrast in her playing, one minute perfect economy, the next opening up like a sonic whirlwind! The hottest new drummer of her generation.”
“Affy’s feel and groove is fantastic, she has the technique of someone way above her years and is a star in the making. A talent like Affys should be nurtured and helped along in any way and I will personally put my reputation on her to do great things in the future”
Welcome to the musician site of Afrika Green. A British/American drummer, she graduated with a first-class degree in Music Performance from the Academy of Contemporary Music. In addition to drumming for the Pet Shop Boys she is currently working for Drum and Bass DJ, High Contrast and Becky Hill. While touring, she completed her memoir which she hopes will give a candid look into the struggles and successes she experienced during her musical career.

I’d also like this blog to be a place to hear from others, whether it be telling stories, voicing an opinion or sharing tips, I’d love for it to be a way to connect with you.
